Iwaasa Wins Big

World Racquetball Tour - Lombard, Illinois - Young gun Alberta racquetball star, Coby Iwaasa finally made his mark in the big league. Playing at the 2014 Fall Brawl in Illinois, Coby upset the top seeded player, Alex Cardona from Mexico to win his first WRT championship title in a tightly fought battle. 9-15, 15-9, 11-8. Leading upto the finals, Coby also upset the #2 seed Polo Gutierrez from Mexicao 15-6, 15-10 and #3 seed David Horn from USA 10-15, 15-4, 11-5. Coby was one of three Canadians that competed at this tournament and this is Coby's first professional title. This win bodes well for Coby, giving him the extra confidence he will need to play at racquetball's grand slam tournament this weekend, the 2014 United Health Care US Open in Minneapolis, MN.
